元旦. 腊八
元旦已过去好几天了,想想还是提笔写几句吧,也算是家庭日记,毕竟元旦是个还蛮重要的节日。 堪称多事的2011年终于在全球暖化的冬天走完了它的最后一步,2012年新的太阳升起。在新年的第一天,中国人有“新年伊始,万象更新” 的说法,美国人则有制定“New Year’s resolution” 即新年誓言的习惯,总之,都是希望在新的一年里,个人,家庭,国家能比上一年有更大的进步,大家都能过上更好的日子! 心存希望,实在是一件积极的好事。 2012的元旦对于中国人来说还很特殊,因为它既是阳历年2012年的元旦,又恰逢农历腊月的节日“腊八节”,可谓双节临门,据说“元旦”撞上“腊八”,这在历史上还真不多见,据老黄历统计1900年到2012年,只碰到过三次,是1917年、1955年和今年。今年的元旦,儿子和他女友在亚特兰大从圣诞节一直休假到元月2日,所以家里还是我们2人。由于头天晚上看电视忘了在慢炖锅上炖八宝粥(其实入冬以来,我们常常喝小锅杂粮粥),元旦早上吃的是罐装的梅林牌八宝饭,开罐重新蒸热,也就当是八宝粥了。 晚上应邀到一个朋友家开Party,他们家在去年买了新房子,又添了一个宝贝女儿,也是双喜临门。我们带了一个阎家食堂保留菜目—洋葱爆炒牛仔骨,每次都得到好评。今年腊八节,头一次炮制了腊八蒜。前段时间在Sam’s Club 买了大包装的大蒜头,大概有5磅多,才3美刀,质量很好,比超市1美元买3头的合算多了,不过时间长了,大蒜会干瘪空掉或发芽。这次正好制作腊八蒜有用武之地了: 网上抄来的配方,用了500克大蒜头,400ml醋加200克白糖配成腊八醋溶液。瓶子有点大,都浮到上面去了,过几天要搅一搅。 因为家里没有米醋,用了美国超市买的苹果醋,我很喜欢它的味道,有水果的香味,不知能否成就中国传统的腊八蒜。据说腊八节这天炮制的腊八蒜到了春节前后会变成翡翠绿般的颜色,与大年初一的饺子是绝配! 还有很多大蒜,又种了点这个,过几天就有蒜苗吃了!! 还有在2011年的年底,我改了我QQ上的签名:“风过疏竹,风去竹不留声; 雁渡寒潭,雁过潭不留影; 故君子事来而心始现,事去而心随空。”,在新的一年里还是希望能一如既往保持我的生活态度,淡定,平静,心存感恩。算不算我的New Year’s resolution 呢?
