MSN 上的一段对话— 有关楼大学生的一位老师

上个学期末选这学期课程时，楼大学生很兴奋的告诉我们，他选了一门由获得过诺贝尔经济学奖的教授开的课，我们听了也很高兴，能够零距离的感受大师的教诲，不是每个人都能得到的机会。昨天下午快4点时，我在《文学城》的《私房小菜〉上找菜谱呢，楼大学生回到了公寓上了网，说他课后跟诺贝尔奖教授又谈了谈，于是我们有了下面在MSN 即时通话上的一段对话：
 
娃 —楼大学生，我–老妈
 
娃： i spoke to the nobel prize econ professor today after class。we had an interesting discussion about China
 
我：  about china what?
 
娃： how china went from the most powerful nation in teh world at year 1500, but then crashed
        and talking about what drives economic growth.
        is really interesting
 

我：good,  cool

娃：i cant’ believe he is 90 years old, and his mind is so sharp.

我：老当益壮

 娃： my brain has never been pushed so hard。he just keeps asking questions, deeper and deeper

       other professor maybe satisfied with "one layer"，but he just keeps going and going until i have to say "i dunno"

我：what’s his name     

 娃：Douglass C. North. he  is an advisor to GCD on economic policy and growth

 我： 名不虚传

 娃：what does that mean?

我：就是很有本事，不是假的

娃 ：yeah,i guess thats one good thing about going to a good school

我： lucky

道格拉斯·诺斯( Douglass C. North)（1920年11月5日－），美国经济学家，1993年诺贝尔经济奖得主 (with Robert William Fogel ) 。诺斯的主要贡献在于创立了包括产权理论、国家理论和意识形态理论在内的“制度变迁理论”，是美國新制度經濟學(New Institutiona Economics, NIE)派的代表人物。

1983年～至今 任圣路易斯华盛顿大学经济系的经济与历史教授  。
